Date for Your Diary: Glasgow New Hospice Fund Raising Event Day Saturday 21 October.
The Services at our church are on Sunday 10.30 am and Thursday 10.00 am. After both Services there is an opportunity for tea or coffee and a chat so please feel free to come along whenever you can. We are a welcoming community and we seek to share our faith in God and our love of Christ with anyone who would like to engage with us. We are also part of the local community of churches Pollokshields Churches Together. If you are new to our area, or just a visitor to our web pages please consider visiting us and joining our community.
We welcome families with children to our Services at Sherbrooke St. Gilbert's Church. If you have a young baby or toddler, there is a crèche available for you to use during the morning service on Sundays. The crèche operates all year round, including the holiday periods. It is staffed by church members on a rota basis.
The crèche meets in the Reception Room but if you are new to the Church, please make yourself known to the Church members at the door on Sundays who will be able to guide you there. If you have older children, from age 3 upwards, there are young church groups.

Music at Sherbrooke centres around our Sunday morning Service at 10.30 am.
The choir under the directorship of John Gormley brings the whole range of western church music (from J S Bach to such modern composers as John Bell) within our reach. We are a very enthusiastic bunch of amateurs including singers from a very young age (RSNO Junior Singers) to some who have been around a while. Within recent years we have sung Choral Evensong with the choir of St. Margaret’s Scottish Episcopal Church and contributed the largest number to the choir that sang in Glasgow Cathedral to celebrate the 450th Anniversary of the Reformation in Scotland.
For special services, such as Carols by Candlelight in Advent or some Services for Holy Week, many friends join us from the RSAMD and nearer to home. In fact anyone who wants to and loves singing would be made more than welcome. Please come along and join us.
We fund four scholarships annually for young people to sing with the church choir. The scholarships are open to pupils of secondary school age who want to gain experience singing the full repertoire of church music.
The scholarships attract a modest honorarium and a thorough introduction to ecclesiastical music in the western tradition.
To apply for one of these scholarships which run from September through to the following June (the school year) please contact John Gormley through the church email and he will send out the details and application form.
